From Athlete to Human- Week 2

Hey Everyone! This week I am going to speak to how going from being a Varsity Athlete to now a “regular human” and how fitness and nutrition have changed a lot for me.

Being a basketball player at University entails a lot of training and maintenance. There were regular practices, individual practices, and strength and conditioning. The nutritional information I learned through playing basketball was great. As you can see if you are exercising that much you need to be fueling your body properly. Our trainers had us on very high protein diets, pretty much eating all day to help keep our body fueled. We also had scheduled strength and conditioning sessions with workouts planned for us, all we needed to do was follow it.

That now leads me to life after basketball. As you can imagine it is very different, trying to slow down my appetite to match my activity levels, as well as plan and create my own meal plans and workouts. That is why my inquiry project is on Fitness & Nutrition. I am going to use this as a hub for good recipes, workouts, challenges, and recommendations for myself, and whoever is reading!
