This week we talked about what we thought the future of education was going to look like or at least what we hoped it would look like. That is a big question!
My group focused on the fact that we hope that learning will move outside and be more hands-on. With PHE for me, this is a lot easier than other subjects because it is actually expected. Our idea is that students will not have to overload themselves as much with trying to memorize content but instead live experiences with what they are learning. When you are hands-on with the material you are learning you tend to remember that content a lot better because it is a lived memory, not a concept that was explained to you that you have to try to picture in your head. Another thing that did come up with the idea is that some students do not have all the accessibilities to take their learning outdoors all of the time. One solution we came up with was having classrooms made of glass that are surrounded by nature! We also talked about when outdoors with a student that is hard of hearing you could use an FM radio system that helps allow students who have a hard time hearing in large spaces the same opportunity to learn.
In some classes, it does not completely make sense to always be outside, such as music, but even in music, it would be cool to use outdoor amphitheaters and try to incorporate being outdoor into your classroom.
