6. practice respect for all learners from all cultures, including, specifically, Indigenous learners- #3

In my observations at Belmont as well as through the PDP program, I was able to learn, witness, and teach Indigenous Lessons.

At Belmont, I was lucky enough to help and observe a PHE class that brought in a local Indigenous woman to teach the students about Lacrosse and the history behind it. Around the same time, I was also set to teach an Indigenous Lacrosse Lesson to high school students at another school. With my time and experience at Belmont, I was able to gather amazing resources and information and teach my lesson in a way I never would have been able to if I did not experience that lesson in school. Natasha was also very helpful in sharing resources, and expertise on how to make my lesson go smooth and respectfully.

Along with resources and ideas from Dayna Chris-Rowling, I was able to use content me and other classmates have learned from her to add First People’s Principles into all of our lessons, specifically a Outdoor Education Lesson that I am teaching in the future.
